I went off of what I’ve noticed in the comics and what worked for the purposes of furthering this story. I have nothing against Betty Ross, but she’s been sort of overlooked in this.

Anyway, while primarily based on the movie-verse, this fic also moves into possible futures/alternate realities. As a result, it draws and pulls ideas from various Iron Man and Avengers comics. And occasionally references other characters from that 'verse. IV is roughly based on something that happened to comic book Tony in the 80s.
